Emma Bunton, known as Baby Spice, turned 49 on Tuesday and sparked new rumors of a feud with her former Spice Girls bandmate, Geri Horner.
While social media was filled with birthday tributes for Emma, the lack of engagement with one post, in particular, raised eyebrows.
Birthday Wishes from Fellow Spice Girls
Emma received heartfelt birthday wishes from her fellow Spice Girls, who flooded social media with sweet messages and throwback photos.
Geri, also known as Ginger Spice, shared a nostalgic picture of the two together at a promotional event for Geri’s book Rosie Frost And The Falcon Queen, along with a loving message: “Happy birthday @emmaleebunton wishing you so much love and joy!”
However, as the hours passed, it became evident that Emma had not acknowledged Geri’s post in any way.
While Emma shared posts from Mel B, Melanie C, and Victoria Beckham, she didn’t like, comment, or repost Geri’s tribute.
Messages from the Spice Girls
Victoria Beckham, or Posh Spice, posted a throwback photo of herself giving Emma a piggyback ride, with a sweet caption: “Happy birthday @emmaleebunton!!! Kisses xxx.”
Meanwhile, Sporty Spice (Melanie C) shared an emotional video montage of their time together, set to 2 Become 1, which highlighted moments of the duo on stage, hugging, and laughing together.
Mel C’s message read, “Hope you have the most beautiful day and a year full of wonderful opportunities, especially some we can share! Love you to pieces.”
Scary Spice (Mel B) also joined in, posting a fun tribute with a photo of the two in their iconic styles, including one where Mel B made a cheeky gesture.
Her caption said, “HAPPY BIRTHDAYYYY BUNTONNNN we always have most fun when we’re together. luv youuu.”
The Rumored Fallout
Emma’s lack of response to Geri’s birthday post comes amid rumors of tension between the two, especially after Geri allegedly backed out of a major Netflix biopic project that would have paid each Spice Girl £1 million.
Reports surfaced that Geri’s decision had caused friction within the group, leading to a rumored fallout.
However, some of these fears were eased when Geri joined her bandmates in celebrating Melanie C’s 51st birthday on January 12.
A Netflix source confirmed that the company is keen to involve all five members in the biopic, which is still in its early stages.
Despite the ongoing rumors, the source reassured fans that there’s plenty of time to get everyone on board.
Geri’s Husband Denies Involvement in Feud
Earlier in November, Geri’s husband, Christian Horner, was forced to deny claims that he was involved in derailing the Spice Girls’ Netflix project.
Christian stated that there were no plans for a family documentary, further distancing himself from the controversy.

This latest drama follows a long-standing tension between Mel B and Geri, which resurfaced in 2019 when Mel B revealed on Piers Morgan’s Life Stories that she had a brief romantic encounter with Geri during the Spice Girls’ nineties heyday.
