Sitting on the bench, she spoke with the umpire before standing up to continue the match. Overcoming the Setback It was unclear why Raducanu was so emotional, but she composed herself and fought hard to stay in the match. Despite her efforts to recover, she lost the first set in a tie-break, 7-6. This setback followed a series of disappointing early exits in her recent tournaments, including first-round defeats in Abu Dhabi, Doha, and Singapore, as well as a tough loss to Iga Swiatek in the third round of the Australian Open. I’m just really proud of my performance.” What’s Next for Raducanu Raducanu is currently ranked No. 60 in the world, and with more wins at the WTA 1000 level in Dubai, she could see her ranking climb higher. The tournament is being held at the Aviation Club Tennis Centre in the United Arab Emirates, and Raducanu, having received a wildcard entry, will be looking to build on her recent performance and get back on track after a tough start to 2025.
