If you were hoping to step outside this weekend in just a T-shirt, you might want to rethink your wardrobe choices.

Gauteng is in for a crisp, cold start to Saturday morning, with Johannesburg dipping to a frosty 4°C and Pretoria starting the day at a slightly warmer—but still chilly—6°C.

Thankfully, the afternoons won’t have you shivering.

Daytime temperatures are set to climb to around 19°C in Pretoria, with other parts of the province enjoying similar mild conditions.

Saturday’s Weather Outlook

Forecaster Phemelo Zonke says Saturday will bring a mix of mostly fine to partly cloudy skies.

The mornings will feel cold enough to make you appreciate that first cup of coffee, but the afternoons should be comfortably pleasant for outdoor activities.

Sunday Brings a Touch of Change

By Sunday, a cold front sweeping through the Western Cape will start to influence Gauteng’s weather, especially in the southern and eastern areas.

“We expect cooler conditions over the southern high ground, but most of Gauteng will remain dry,” Zonke explained.

While temperatures may dip slightly, sunshine will still dominate the day for most residents.

Mostly Fine Skies and No Major Warnings

Here’s the good news—while other provinces brace for damaging winds and disruptive rainfall, Gauteng can breathe easy.

The province will enjoy clear to partly cloudy skies, with only the occasional patch of cloud in certain areas.

So, whether you’re planning a relaxed picnic, a morning jog, or just a quiet weekend at home, the weather should cooperate—just remember to dress warmly in the mornings.
