Flying can be stressful, but things took a wild turn on a recent Frontier Airlines flight when a young passenger suddenly lost his cool — sparking a physical fight mid-air that shocked fellow travelers.
Shocking Attack Caught on Camera as Flight Lands in Miami
Ishann Sharma, a 21-year-old from New Jersey, was caught on video laughing after allegedly launching a surprise attack on another passenger during the flight to Miami International Airport. But his smug grin didn’t last long.
As soon as the plane touched down, authorities were waiting to take him into custody.
Passenger Assault Leads to Immediate Police Response on the Tarmac
Deputies were called to the Miami tarmac Monday night after reports of the onboard assault.
According to the arrest report, Sharma suddenly grabbed a fellow flyer by the neck as the man was heading back to his seat — completely unprovoked.
Bizarre Explanation from Defense Lawyer About Meditation Dispute
The footage shows a brutal fistfight erupting between Sharma and the victim — who was wearing a grey sweatshirt and had dreadlocks — as passengers pleaded with them to stop.
Even after being pulled apart, Sharma returned to his seat grinning, taking selfies showing his bloodied face and muttering to himself.
At court, Sharma’s defense attorney gave a surprising explanation, saying the fight started because the passenger “did not like” Sharma meditating during the flight.
Despite this odd defense, the judge wasn’t convinced.
Injuries Sustained But Victim Declines Medical Treatment
Sharma suffered a cut above his left eyebrow, while the other man had minor injuries but refused medical care.
After being treated at Jackson West Hospital, Sharma was booked and appeared in bond court the next day.
Court Sets Bond and Issues Strict No-Contact Order
Miami-Dade Circuit Judge Gerald Hubbart set Sharma’s bond at $500 and ordered him to stay away from the victim by at least 500 feet — including avoiding contact on social media and keeping away from the victim’s school and workplace.
Frontier Airlines Has Yet to Comment on Incident
Frontier Airlines didn’t immediately respond when Daily Mail reached out for comment on the incident.
This fight adds to a string of recent troubling events on Frontier flights.
Recent History of Unruly Behavior on Frontier Flights
Just a few months ago, passengers had to restrain a man on a Frontier flight from Denver to Houston after he violently punched a window, creating panic onboard.
Fellow travelers had to use shoelaces and zip ties to hold him down, showing how tense flights have become recently.
