Former SuperSport United Goalkeeper Tshepo Motsoeneng Takes Charge as Head Coach of Dlangezwa Hellenic FC in the 2024/25 SAFA KwaZulu-Natal ABC Motsepe League Season

After parting ways with Njampela FC earlier this month, Tshepo Motsoeneng is set to embark on an exciting new chapter in his coaching career.

This well-traveled coach has officially joined Dlangezwa Hellenic FC, taking the reins as head coach for the upcoming 2024/25 season in the SAFA KwaZulu-Natal ABC Motsepe League.

A Strong Support Team

Motsoeneng, who previously shone as a goalkeeper for SuperSport United, will be joined by Sithembiso Majola as his assistant.

With an impressive track record that includes over five championships in South Africa’s third-tier football, Motsoeneng arrives at Dlangezwa Hellenic with high expectations.

Last season, he not only clinched the KZN ABC Motsepe League title with Njampela but also led them to the national playoffs in Upington, Northern Cape, marking his sixth appearance at this prestigious event—a remarkable achievement that few coaches can claim.

Celebrated Victories

Adding to his accolades, Motsoeneng guided Njampela to victory in the Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi Legacy Cup, triumphing over Betway Premiership side Richards Bay FC in a nail-biting penalty shootout.

His success speaks volumes about his capability as a coach and sets a promising tone for his future at Dlangezwa Hellenic.

Club’s Warm Welcome

The management at Dlangezwa Hellenic FC expressed their excitement in an official statement, saying, “We would like to welcome coach Tshepo Motsoeneng as the head coach of Dlangezwa Hellenic.”

They also acknowledged Sithembiso Majola’s new role as assistant coach.

Given Motsoeneng’s strong reputation in the Motsepe League, expectations are high for a competitive run at the league title, as well as qualifying for the national playoffs and potentially earning a spot in the Motsepe Foundation Championship.

Experience Across Various Teams

Motsoeneng’s coaching experience spans several teams, including Tornado FC, Buffalo City Municipal Stars, Sinenkani FC, Zizwe United, and Bizana Pondo Chiefs, among others.

His diverse background enriches his approach and strategies as he settles into his new role.

Looking Ahead

Currently, Dlangezwa Hellenic FC stands eighth in Stream A of the KZN ABC Motsepe League, having earned three points from their first four matches.

Their next challenge is a league match against Umvoti FC, scheduled for Saturday, November 2, 2024.

With Motsoeneng at the helm, fans and players alike are eager to see how this new journey unfolds.
