Former inmate testifies that accused wife killer James Craig asked him to arrange murders of detective and witnesses from Colorado jail

Behind prison walls, secrets are hard to keep—especially when your cellmate is trying to hire a hitman.

That’s the shocking revelation at the center of Dr. James Craig’s murder trial. The Co

orado dentist, accused of poisoning his wife Angela, now faces even more damning testimony—not from police, but from fellow inmates who say he tried to orchestrate crimes from inside his cell.

Cellmate Testifies About Dark Jailhouse Conversations

On Wednesday, jurors heard jaw-dropping claims from Nathanial Harris, a tattooed, bearded inmate awaiting trial on unrelated charges. Harris testified that while sharing a cell with Craig in 2024, the accused killer offered him “a blank check” to help arrange assas

nations—including one targeting Detective Bobbi Jo Olson, the lead investigator on his case.

According to Harris, Craig was obsessed with Olson, calling her “the worst, dirtiest detective in the world” and accusing her of fabricating evidence.

Craig also allegedly asked Harris to find someone who could stalk another officer’s child for intimidation purposes.

Plotting From Prison: Hitmen, Cash, and a Sniper Rifle

It wasn’t just talk, Harris claimed. He told the jury that Craig spoke in detail about payment—offering $20,000, an F150 truck, $5,000 in cash, and even a .308 sniper rifle.

While Harris said he pretended to go along to avoid Craig spreading the plan to others, he never acted on any of it.

He did, however, hide a letter Craig had written, asking him to send it to his ex, Kasiani Konstantinidis.

When Harris couldn’t get his lawyer to retrieve the letter, he called his current romantic partner—who he calls his “wife,” Loretta—and asked her to report it to prison officials.

The Damning Letter Hidden in Legal Mail

That tipoff led Sgt. Nicholas Hudson of the Arapahoe County Detention Facility to conduct a surprise cell search.

At first, Hudson didn’t find anything.

But with Harris’s permission, he eventually located and read the letter—a chilling piece of evidence outlining a plot to discredit witnesses and fabricate stories to support Craig’s innocence.

The letter read like a script. It included roles for Craig’s ex-wife, her sister, and others.

Konstantinidis was instructed to pose as a longtime friend of Angela who knew she used “suicide threats to manipulate” Craig.

Her sister was to pretend she met Angela at a genealogical library.

Most disturbingly, Craig outlined ways to smear Detective Olson and frame Caitlin Romero, his former dental office manager who had previously reported suspicious potassium cyanide deliveries to the office.

Witness Intimidation and Fabrication Allegations

According to the letter, one of the recruited “role players” was to claim they contacted Detective Olson with information favorable to Craig but were ignored—feeding a narrative to the media or investigators that Olson was biased.

Craig also wanted someone to falsely accuse Romero of setting him up or even ordering the cyanide that killed Angela.

He went as far as suggesting she was bribed by her bosses to help frame him.

Craig’s Ex Describes Pattern of Lies

Later that day, Kasiani Konstantinidis took the stand.

During cross-examination, she told jurors it would be “very accurate” to say her ex-husband had a long history of dishonesty.

She was actually on the phone with Detective Olson when the suspicious letter arrived in the mail.

She stopped reading it and left it outside for law enforcement to collect.

Not the First Inmate With a Shocking Story

Harris wasn’t alone. Kacy Bohannon, another former cellmate, also testified that Craig tried to rope him into a scheme in 2023.

Bohannon claimed Craig asked him to plant a fake suicide journal, supposedly written by Angela, in his garage or vehicle.

The dentist even promised to pay his bond and throw in free dental work as payment.

But Bohannon said he backed out the moment he realized what Craig was up to.

“I walked right back to my cell, tore up the map he gave me, and flushed it,” he told the court.

Former Inmates Say Their Conscience Led Them to Speak

Both Harris and Bohannon testified that they received nothing in return for coming forward.

In fact, Harris claimed he even turned down a probation deal.

Bohannon said the weight of what he knew simply became too much.

“I just had this sick feeling… I knew what he told me, and I felt like I needed to tell someone,” he said.

A Trial That Grows Darker By the Day

What began as a tragic murder case involving a respected dentist accused of killing his wife has now spiraled into a story of jailhouse schemes, hit lists, and twisted manipulation.

As the trial continues, prosecutors are making the case that Dr. James Craig didn’t just try to get away with murder—he allegedly tried to rewrite the story, recruit accomplices, and eliminate anyone who stood in his way.

And now, it’s his former cellmates—once silent witnesses behind bars—who are helping bring that story to light.
