In a major leadership change, Sarah Rose, a seasoned television executive, has been appointed CEO of the Royal Foundation of the Prince and Princess of Wales.
With decades of experience across Britain’s top networks, Rose steps into the role at what the couple describe as an “exciting time” for the charitable organization.
Foundation Focus and New Leadership
Rose will lead the Foundation’s work on high-profile initiatives, including Prince William’s campaign to end homelessness, Homewards, Kate’s Centre for Early Childhood, and the couple’s conservation and community-focused projects, United for Wildlife and Community Impact.
The outgoing CEO, Amanda Berry CBE, has transitioned to the role of Global Partnerships Ambassador, with William and Kate expressing gratitude for her leadership over the past three years.
“We are hugely grateful to Amanda for her exceptional leadership and pleased she will continue to work with us in her new role,” the royal couple said.
Sarah Rose’s Extensive Media Career
Sarah Rose brings a wealth of experience to the Foundation.
She spent five years at Paramount as President of Channel 5 and UK Regional Lead, overseeing popular programs like 22 Kids and Counting, Rich House, Poor House, and Call the Bailiffs: Time to Pay Up!.
Her earlier career includes 14 years at Channel 4, where she progressed from Head of VOD and Channel Development to Chief Consumer and Strategy Officer, as well as four years in management at ITV.
“I am honoured to be joining The Royal Foundation and excited by the ambition it has for the future,” Rose said.
Simon Patterson, Chair of the Foundation, welcomed Rose, praising her leadership experience and alignment with the organization’s values of optimism and creativity.
He also thanked Amanda Berry for her tenure, noting that her work laid a strong foundation for the new CEO to build upon.
Royal Communications Shake-Up
The leadership news follows a busy summer in royal staffing.
Earlier this year, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex hired Emily Robinson as their new Director of Communications.
Robinson, who previously promoted the controversial Netflix series The Crown, oversaw global publicity for storylines involving Prince Harry and Princess Diana.
Sources described her as “divisive” during her tenure at Netflix, which ended in April 2024.
William and Kate Pay Tribute to the Late Queen
Amid the Foundation announcements, Prince William and Princess Catherine visited the national federation of the Women’s Institute (WI) in Sunningdale, Ascot, to mark the third anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II’s passing.
The couple reflected on the late monarch’s dedication to the organization, which she had supported for over 80 years.
Over tea and cake, William shared memories of the Queen and family life.
He described his youngest son Louis as “a character but a very good boy,” while Catherine highlighted summer activities with the children, including crafting and beekeeping, emphasizing the importance of creativity and community involvement.
Continuing the Queen’s Legacy
The visit underscored the ongoing commitment of the royal family to charitable and community causes, echoing the late Queen’s words about the WI’s value in education and public engagement.
Catherine greeted members warmly in a stylish tartan dress, while William joked about the abundance of cake awaiting them, keeping the atmosphere light and celebratory.
