The Flying Eagles of Nigeria have expressed their confidence and fearlessness as they prepare to face the Italy Under-20 team in the ongoing Under-20 World Cup in Argentina.
Italy made a strong statement by defeating the five-time champions, Brazil, with a score of 3-2 in their opening Group D match.
The upcoming game between Nigeria and Italy, scheduled for 7 PM tonight at the Estadio Malvinas Argentina, carries significant weight as it could determine the Nigerian team’s progress in the tournament.
Nigeria secured a 2-1 victory over the Dominican Republic in their debut match, currently placing them in the second spot in Group D, just behind Italy.
The Italians showcased their dominance over Brazil in the opening game, impressively scoring three goals in 45 minutes, much to the delight of the almost full stadium.
However, despite the formidable performance of the Italian team, Flying Eagles’ head coach, Ladan Bosso, remained steadfast in his belief that his team could devise a plan to counter their compact style.
Coach Bosso revealed that they thoroughly analyzed Italy’s match against Brazil, taking notes and identifying areas to exploit.
Recognizing Italy’s strong midfield and their ability to outpace opponents, Bosso expressed confidence in his team’s ability to neutralize their strengths and deliver their own attacks.
Coach Bosso stated, “We will respect them but we don’t fear any team at this championship.
We have the boys who can neutralize their mortal armory and deliver some blows of our own.
Wednesday’s encounter will be interesting.”
Flying Eagles’ captain, Daniel Bameyi, echoed the coach’s sentiments, acknowledging the strength of Italy as a team that managed to defeat Brazil.
However, Bameyi emphasized the Nigerian spirit, stating that as Nigerians, they are not afraid of any opponent and believe that every team is beatable, regardless of their playing style.
Bameyi expressed, “Any team that can beat Brazil will not be easy, but we are Nigerians and not scared of anybody, and we know every team is beatable no matter how you play.”
With their fearless mindset and determination, the Flying Eagles of Nigeria are geared up for an intriguing clash against the Italy Under-20 team, ready to give their all and strive for victory in this crucial encounter.
