At the foot of the Ogunu fly over bridge, the Ugbuwangue is inundated and divided by water.
When it rains, motorists and commuters on the NPA Express Way must wade through the flood.
Because of the constant rain, a section of the road has also collapsed.
Because to the ongoing floods, residents and traders are finding it impossible to appraise the road.
Some motorists who spoke with DRTV News expressed their dissatisfaction with the terrible roads and flooding’s impact on their automobiles and the environment.
They appealed to both the Federal and Delta State Governments to channel the water from the road to the drainage channel constructed by the Warri Uvwie and Environs Development Agency, WUEDA.
The drainage channel have however been ineffective.
Some residents and business owners lamented how the deplorable portions of the NPA Expressway and the accompanying flood has affected their businesses.
They however noted that the stagnant water which has submerged the road is caused by the blocked three man-holes with refuse and erection of structures on the water channel leading to the Ugbuwangue River.
The residents and business owners who praised the Delta State Government for the on-going construction of drainage from the Edjeba River to the New Port, emphasized that opening up removal of the illegal structures.
They expressed fear that if urgent measures were not taken to address the constant flooding along the NPA expressway, Ugbuwangue, the road would be eventually cut off from the rest of the oil city.
Meanwhile, the flood which is a source of concern to motorists and others is serving a good purpose to tricycle owners who wash their tricycle there on a daily basis.
The company handling the construction of the water drainage on the water south part of the NPA Expressway is fully working to solve the flood problem facing Warri and its environs.
