What was supposed to be a dream makeover of a multimillion-dollar home has quickly turned into a messy courtroom drama in Greenwood Village, Colorado.
Danielle Braverman, a former international model, and her husband David Reis are locked in a bitter dispute with their interior designer neighbor, Hayley Servatius, over a renovation gone horribly wrong—and some serious accusations flying back and forth.
Accusations Fly Over an Alleged Affair and Stolen Funds
Braverman and Reis have accused Servatius, who lives just a few hundred feet away, of being distracted by a steamy affair with a construction worker named John Soderstrom.
They say this alleged distraction caused delays, theft, and fraud during the renovation of their $6 million mansion.
Servatius has firmly denied any affair, telling the court, “No.
I am a God-fearing woman,” and insisting she’s only ever been romantically involved with her husband, Matthew, with whom she shares three kids.
Flirty Texts and Courtroom Drama Without the Affair Details
Flirty text messages between Servatius and Soderstrom are part of the evidence the jury will see during the civil trial underway in Centennial, Colorado.
However, jurors won’t hear the explicit affair claims, as the court has kept those details out of the trial, focusing instead on the legal disputes over money and contracts.
Servatius Strikes Back With Her Own Claims
Not one to take accusations lying down, Servatius has countersued the couple.
She describes them as nightmare clients who kept piling on more work beyond their original agreement, then stiffed her on payments, leaving her tens of thousands of dollars out of pocket.
Servatius even alleges Braverman and Reis threatened to “destroy” her interior design business, HLS Designs.
The Renovation Nightmare and Rising Costs
The legal battle centers on the remodeling of the couple’s huge six-bedroom, 8.5-bath mansion, purchased in 2020 for nearly $1.8 million.
Braverman and Reis hired Servatius—who markets herself as a curator of “beautiful moments” and “timeless décor”—hoping for a flawless design.
But the project quickly went off the rails.
According to the couple, Servatius lied about her experience, promised magazine features that never happened, and quit before completing the work.
Major Design Flaws and Disputed Invoices
Braverman and Reis say they moved into the home in late 2022, only to discover “major design flaws.”
They claim Servatius charged for expensive furnishings that never made it to their house but instead appeared in her own home’s Instagram photos.
Items like hand-knotted rugs, marble side tables, and crystal lamps allegedly purchased on the couple’s credit card vanished from their property.
The lawsuit even accuses Servatius of doctoring invoices to inflate prices by thousands of dollars.
Servatius Points Fingers at Contractor and Clients
In her defense, Servatius insists she spent $15,000 of her own money during the renovation and that she was only temporarily storing furniture at her home.
She blames any slip-ups on the general contractor, John Soderstrom—the same man she allegedly texted flirty messages to but denies any affair with.
Servatius also calls Braverman a difficult client who has refused payment to other interior designers in the past.
What’s at Stake and What’s Next in Court
The trial is ongoing, with the couple seeking $437,000 in direct costs plus punitive damages for what they describe as theft, fraud, and breach of contract.
The courtroom drama is expected to stretch through the week as jurors sift through conflicting stories, invoices, and text messages to decide who’s telling the truth.
A Model’s Journey From Fame to Feuds
Danielle Braverman’s past as an international model adds another layer to the story.
She’s spoken openly about overcoming an eating disorder caused by industry pressures and has found success as a plus-size model.
She was previously married to Michael Braverman, the father of her two children, who sadly passed away in 2018.
