Fiston Mayele decides to skip Kaizer Chiefs move and opts for lucrative Saudi Arabian football contract instead

After months of buzzing rumors, it seems Fiston Mayele’s much-anticipated move to Kaizer Chiefs might be off the table.

The 30-year-old striker is reportedly gearing up for a move to Saudi Arabia instead, where a much more lucrative deal awaits him.

Mayele’s Inner Circle Confirms No Interest in South African Football

Christian Bukasa, who’s like a brother to Mayele, recently spilled the beans in an interview with KickOff.

According to him, Mayele isn’t interested in returning to the South African Premier Division anymore — especially after tasting success by winning the CAF Champions League with Pyramids.

“He doesn’t want South Africa anymore, so I’m surprised he’s still being linked to Chiefs,” Bukasa said.

It turns out Mayele’s initial hopes to play in South Africa were dashed by financial and age-related concerns, which discouraged him early on.

Saudi Arabia Beckons With a Hefty Paycheck

Bukasa was clear that Mayele’s priority now is maximizing his earnings as he approaches the later stages of his career.

“He will not even come to Mamelodi Sundowns because the PSL chapter is closed for him,” he said.

Instead, the striker is expected to join a Saudi club soon, where his salary will reportedly triple what he’s making now—plus extra bonuses. “

At his age, he needs to make money for himself and his family. Saudi Arabia is the best destination right now.”

No Plans to Return for Soccer, Only for the Music

Interestingly, Mayele apparently told Bukasa that if he ever comes back to South Africa, it won’t be to play football, but just to enjoy the local ‘Amapiano’ music scene during holidays.

“As far as playing here, all the teams need to forget about him,” Bukasa added candidly.

When it comes to African clubs, besides Pyramids, only Al Ahly might still be an option for him.

Kaizer Chiefs Should Start Searching for a New Striker

With Mayele’s Saudi move looking imminent, Chiefs might need to turn their attention elsewhere for striking options.

After nearly two years of speculation linking him to Amakhosi, this news could force a quick rethink.
