First female Qur’anic recitation competition kicks in Adamawa

The Initiative for Muslim Women of Nigeria, IMWON Adamawa state Chapter have organized a four Days Qur’anic competition for female category in Adamawa.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the competition, held at Suher Jimeta Thursday the state IMWON chairman Hajiya Asma’u Abubakar said The IMWON is a non-govermental organization which assist orphans and less privilege among Muslim women to ensure they acquire sound knowledge.

She explained that the association is also carrying out humanitarian activities to enhance peaceful coexistence in the society.

The Amirah while expressing her appreciation to those who contributed to the hosting of the competition and urged the participants to abide by rules of competition.

In his remark, the State Coordinator, Malam Hayatu Imam said the competition was organized to female non-Arabic education secondary schools in Adamawa with the aims imparting sound Arabic knowledge to female student.

He advised local government coordinators of the competition to give maximum support for the success of the competition.

Speaking the District Head of Jimeta Alhaji Muhammadu Baba Paris represented by Village head of Yelwa Ya’u Dahiru Kowagol commended IMWON for organizing the competition and pledge his support for the success of the competition which he described as educative.

The Chief Judge of the competition Malam Bashir said at the end of the competition the overall winner will represent Adamawa at the national level.

He appealed on participants to flow the rules and regulations the competitions.

One hundred and five students across twenty-one local governments of Adamawa are participating in the competition which will be rounded up on Sunday fifth September twenty twenty-one.
