Voters turn out in the FCT Area Councils Election in Nyanya was low.

Most people are going about their everyday activities, with many saying they have to work to get their daily bread, which is of more importance according to them.

Although accreditation and voting were supposed to start by 8:30 am by INEC timing; however, most of the polling units visited were behind schedule.

According to the INEC officials, the delay was because of logistics.

For instance, in polling unit 010 in Nyanya, the presiding officers said the Bimodal Voters Accreditation Machine needed to be reactivated since they could not start by 8: 30 am.

By INEC record, 18 political parties were expected to participate in the election.

However, only PDP and APC agents were visible in all the polling units we visited.

In two places, the PDP agent was the one that provided chairs and canopies to enable the INEC officials to commence work.

Meanwhile, security personnel were stationed in all the polling units.

Details later.
