Eddie Hearn, the boxing promoter, has revealed that Tyson Fury is set to fight Mexican-American Andy Ruiz in his next fight, after talks broke down with Oleksandr Usyk.
Fury, who is the WBC heavyweight boxing champion, was expected to face either Anthony Joshua or Usyk, the IBF, WBA, and WBO champion.
Fans had hoped for a unification bout between Fury and Usyk, but the negotiations fell through over clauses relating to a potential rematch.

Fury’s last fight was in December, where he won against Derek Chisora, and he had called out Usyk after the victory.
However, Hearn’s revelation has now dashed hopes of the two undefeated titans meeting in the summer.

The revelation has left boxing fans frustrated, with many taking to Twitter to vent their frustration at the prospect of the Fury-Ruiz fight.
Speculation still exists for Fury to face Usyk, as a third career defeat for Ruiz could land Fury in an even more favourable position when fight negotiations with Usyk re-emerge ahead of a speculated clash in Saudi Arabia for December.
