Family Relatives of Late Darts Star Jocky Wilson Engage in Violent Fight at Baby Shower in Fife After Party Games Escalate

What should’ve been a joyful baby shower quickly turned into an all-out family brawl—and not just between anyone, but relatives of the late darts legend Jocky Wilson.

The celebration in Fife, Scotland, started off light and friendly but spiraled into shouting matches, accusations, and even physical violence, with one woman claiming her feeding tube was pulled out.

The Scene at Lochore Miners’ Welfare Club

The baby shower was held at the Lochore Miners’ Welfare Social Club on May 18 last year.

It kicked off at 1 PM for Chantelle Wilson, who was excitedly awaiting the arrival of her baby daughter.

Guests included two sides of the family—hers and her partner’s—who sat at different tables.

Things were peaceful at first, but then came the party games.

That’s when the mood started to shift.

A Game Question Sparks the Tension

During a game called “Would Mummy Rather,” someone threw in a cheeky question: “Would mummy rather put a bottle on for the baby or open a bottle of wine?” One guest from the father-to-be’s side joked that she’d choose the wine—and that didn’t go down well.

Chantelle got upset, and the already fragile peace between the two families began to unravel.

From ‘Baby Bingo’ to Full-Blown Arguing

Arguments broke out between Sarah Wilson—Chantelle’s mother—and Pamela Ritchie from the other family.

According to Sarah’s daughter, Chardonnay Wilson, her mum tried to defuse things by suggesting they talk another day.

But the arguing didn’t stop there.

During another game, ‘Baby Bingo,’ things escalated.

Allegations of inappropriate and even sexual comments were thrown around.

Then came a paper plate with a rude message allegedly targeting the Wilsons.

Even a page that Chardonnay had written in the baby book was mysteriously ripped out.

The Fight Spills Outside the Venue

By this point, what should’ve been innocent baby shower fun turned into full-on drama.

As tensions boiled over, the confrontation spilled out of the venue and turned physical.

Sarah Wilson, 45, admitted to grabbing Pamela Ritchie by the hair and repeatedly punching her.

Meanwhile, Chardonnay was accused of attacking Yvonne Ritchie, the grandmother of the baby’s father, and of allegedly trying to pull out her feeding tube—something she strongly denies.

Courtroom Verdicts and Family Ties

In court, Sarah Wilson pleaded guilty, while Chardonnay was found guilty of assault but not convicted due to special circumstances.

Her lawyer argued that a conviction would ruin her career as a carer, which she started at just 18.

Sheriff Susan Duff agreed that it wasn’t proportionate to ruin a young woman’s future over what was essentially a heat-of-the-moment family conflict.

So, Chardonnay was given an absolute discharge—meaning she’s found guilty but won’t have a criminal record.

The Jocky Wilson Connection

After the court proceedings, both Sarah and Chardonnay spoke out—especially as media attention focused on their family connection to Scottish darts icon Jocky Wilson, who passed away in 2012.

Sarah is his niece and Chardonnay his great-niece.

But they’re adamant that his legacy has nothing to do with what happened.

“I’m Jocky Wilson’s niece, but that has nothing to do with this,” Sarah told reporters.

Chardonnay also insisted that she never touched Yvonne’s feeding tube, saying, “It took three of them to try and attack me.

I didn’t do anything.”

Support From Chantelle and What Comes Next

Chantelle, the mum-to-be at the center of it all, posted a supportive message and photo of her mother and sister on Facebook following the trial, backing them both despite the family drama.

As for Sarah Wilson, she’s now waiting for her sentence, which is expected next month after the sheriff requested a full report.

What’s next?
This baby shower will likely be remembered for all the wrong reasons.

But it’s a reminder that even the most joyful occasions can go sideways when family tensions, misunderstandings, and old grievances bubble up.

Hopefully, the families find a way to make peace—for the sake of the baby at the heart of it all.
