Stephen Barton, missing since Wednesday night, has caused great concern for his family and the Thurston County community.
Barton was last seen at his rural Thurston County home on Wednesday night.
The next morning, his cell phone and vehicles were left at his home, but he was nowhere to be found.
The Thurston County Sheriff’s Office is currently seeking public assistance in searching for 54-year-old Stephen Barton, who also goes by the name Shane.
According to the sheriff’s office, Barton’s disappearance is considered to be suspicious.
As a result, they have conducted multiple searches of the area, including the family’s 11-acre property, with assistance from the Washington State Patrol.
Detectives are continuing to investigate the property as of Tuesday.
Barton’s son, Danner Barton, spoke to reporters and shared that the family has gone through every scenario and talked to as many people as they can.
However, they are still unable to determine why Barton would have left on his own.
Barton is described as being 5’8″ with short brown hair and brown eyes.
The Thurston County Sheriff’s Office asks anyone who may have seen him or knows his whereabouts to contact them.
In addition to the searches conducted by law enforcement, family, and friends, the family has also taken to social media to spread awareness about Barton’s disappearance.
They have created a Facebook page called “Find Shane Barton,” where they share updates and urge anyone with information to come forward.
Danner shared that his family is struggling to cope with the situation, and they are hopeful that someone will come forward with information that can lead to his father’s safe return.
The community has also rallied around the family during this difficult time.
Many have offered their support and assistance in the search for Barton.
As the search continues, the family is grateful for any information that can lead to his safe return.
