Exploring Nafplio, Greece

Nafplio is a small seaside town about 2 hours from Athens. It’s known as one of the most romantic places in Greece. You can easily get there by car or bus and the ride down there is scenic, so don’t just sit back and go to sleep! Once there, you’ll want to visit the center of Old Town Nafplio. You can wander the alleyways and get lost for hours.

Love water sports and paddleboarding? Head to a beach or a cove to swim or paddle away on crystal clear blue waters. One of the great things about coves is that the water is still, perfect for relaxing and gliding along on your kayak or board.

Love museums and cultural experiences? There are fortresses, castles, archeology museums, a museum dedicated to beads, and science exhibitions everywhere. Nafplio makes it easy to explore neighboring cities so plan a day trip to visit a winery or archeological site. When you get hungry, there are taverns and restaurants that specialize in classic Greek dishes and Mediterranean style meals.

Looking to spoil yourself with your accommodations? Check out the Nafplio Palace Hotel and Villas. This hotel is perched on top of a hill, offering you a stunning view of the ocean and the town. There are beautiful bungalows, an infinity pool and all the amenities you would expect from a 5-star resort. Located in the heart of Nafplio, you’ll be within walking distance of all the sights.

There’s never been a better time to plan a vacation. With low airfare stretching months into the future, you just might be able to do this getaway hundreds of dollars under budget.
