Inuwa, who ran on the Peoples’ Democratic Party’s (PDP) ticket, was in a car with his buddy Earnest Agatha when unidentified gunmen opened fire on them in Zuma settlement on the outskirts of Bwari town.
The lawmaker was transported to Bwari general hospital, where he was confirmed dead on arrival. Late Agatha, who was driving the vehicle, died instantly.
Confirming the incident, the FCT police command’s public relations officer, DSP Josephine Adah, said an investigation has been launched and that the culprits will be arrested as soon as possible.
