Eng Omodon Assures Deltans Of Completion Of Asaba/Ughelli Road Dualization Project

The Commissioner for Works (Highways/Urban Roads) Mr Noel Omodon has assured Deltans and other road users that the Asaba/Ughelli Road dualization project will not be abandoned but completed in prime time.

Mr Omodon gave the assurance in Asaba on the heels of complaint by citizens that the project had been abandoned as the contractor handling the road project has left site.

According to Mr Omodon, “People need not to worry too much about the Asaba/Ughelli Road Dualization Project as the road will not be abandoned, it is one of the State Government’s prime projects inherited from the Federal Government. Am very sure that government shall deliver the road to the satisfaction of Deltans and other road users.”

He stated that the contractor handling the project had done a lot of concrete and earth replacement work using laterite and as such cannot continue because of the rains, stressing that as the rains receed, the contractor will mobilize back to site.

“I believe that by October/November when the rains must have receded a bit, the site will be very busy and therefore work will be resume in full blast.

“We want to assure every public that there is no problem at all with the Asaba/Ughelli Road Dualization, Sector C1 and C2, as the work going on on that road is very good and of standard,” Mr Omodon stated.

He thanked Mr Anthony Bini who called the attention of the commissioner to the issues of the road, saying, “I thank Mr Anthony Bini who is like a partner with the Ministry of Works for being able to raise our project high and for calling our attention to those things that bothers him. We are appreciative of such effort.”

Earlier, one Mr Anthony Bini, had called the Attention of the state government that the road have been abandoned as the contractor handling the road project was not on site.

Mr Bini called on the contractor to commence work on the Asaba/Ughelli, sector C1 and C2, Road dualization project because of its importance to road users.
