Employers must pay their employees on time: Ministry of Human Resources

DUBAI, 1st March, 2022 – The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation has said that employers must pay their employees on time as stated in their contracts, in accordance with the wage protection system.

This is also in line with the ministerial resolution that implements the Federal Decree-Law regulating labour relations, and is part of the efforts to increase labour market protection, it added.

Mohsen Al Nassi, Director of the Inspection Systems Department at the Ministry, said employees should receive their salaries on time as it is their right.

He then called on employers to respect the wage protection system, which operates through an e-mechanism that facilitates the process of paying wages, under the framework of the strategic partnership with the Central Bank of the UAE.

According to the ministerial resolution, the ministry has adopted a methodology for the procedures that must be taken against non-compliant facilities, Al Nassi.

He then highlighted the importance of the ministry’s e-inspection system, which monitors the payment of wages, especially during field visits to non-compliant facilities.
