First choice goalkeeper of FC Ifeanyi Ubah, Emmanuel Uzoigwe is in talks with Rivers United ahead of a possible switch to the pride of Rivers.
Uzoigwe finished as the 4th best goalkeeper in the Nigeria Professional Football League last season with ten clean sheets behind Adewale Adeyinka and Dele Aiyenugba who kept 16 clean sheets respectively, and Stanley Nwabili of Lobi Stars who did not concede in 14 games.
With FC Ifeanyi Ubah dropping to the Nigeria National League, the goalkeeper is now a subject of interest from the continental campaigners.
Uzoigwe who is nicknamed “Sharp” due to his response, reflexes and consistent heroics in games is expected to leave the Nnewi side as Abia Warriors and Heartland have also asked about his availability.
Rivers United will offer him continental football and also entice him with a lucrative monthly pay, but it remains to be seen where he heads to ahead of the next football season.
