The saga surrounding Jeffrey Epstein refuses to fade away.
Recently, a new report from the Justice Department and FBI has shaken public trust once again by stating that Epstein did not have a so-called “client list” and that he did, in fact, die by suicide while in prison.
This announcement has sparked outrage and disbelief across the nation, especially among those who have long suspected a cover-up.
Elon Musk and the Trump Base Demand Transparency
One of the loudest voices of criticism comes from billionaire Elon Musk, who called the memo published by Axios “the final straw.”
Supporters of former President Donald Trump are also up in arms, accusing Attorney General Pam Bondi and FBI Director Kash Patel of misleading the public.
The biggest blowback online has centered on Bondi, who some accuse of intentionally withholding crucial information.
Conflicting Statements and Accusations of Stonewalling
Right-wing media outlet Gateway Pundit questioned Bondi directly: if no client list exists, why did she tell reporters that such a list was “sitting on my desk right now to review”?
An insider familiar with the Justice Department’s inner workings told the Daily Mail that the DOJ has been slow or unwilling to release sealed documents connected to the case.
The source suggested that only the DOJ can unlock these files — yet Americans remain in the dark.
This same insider also said that many believe Bondi is “stonewalling” the public, spinning misinformation to hide the truth.
But they also warned that this tactic isn’t fooling those closely following the case.
Calls for Justice and Questions About Epstein’s Associates
Musk has criticized the Trump administration for failing to take action against anyone involved in Epstein’s child sex trafficking network.
Right-wing journalist Laura Loomer pointed out the suspicious timing of the DOJ’s statement — released late on a July 4th weekend, when public attention tends to wane.
During his presidential campaign, Trump promised to declassify many hidden federal files, including those related to Epstein and major historical assassinations.
Earlier this year, Bondi provided some binders of Epstein-related documents to MAGA influencers, but the release was largely seen as lacking any new or groundbreaking information.
Trump’s Connection to Epstein and the Flight Logs
The Trump loyalists’ pressure on the DOJ and FBI to fully reveal Epstein files hasn’t lessened.
Musk even suggested in a public spat on X (formerly Twitter) that Trump’s name appears on some unreleased Epstein documents — implying this may be why they remain sealed.
It’s known Trump was acquainted with Epstein during the 1980s and 1990s.
His name shows up on Epstein’s private plane flight logs several times in the mid-1990s on trips where his family was also present.
These logs were part of the documents Bondi released in February but didn’t imply any criminal activity.
Conflicting Accounts from Epstein Victims and Bondi’s Position
In a 2016 deposition during a defamation lawsuit against Ghislaine Maxwell, Epstein’s associate, Virginia Giuffre said Trump visited Epstein’s home but never witnessed any inappropriate conduct involving him.
Pam Bondi has maintained that she holds Epstein’s files and will only release them if Trump directs her to do so.
Recently, pro-Trump creator Robby Starbuck shared a video of Bondi telling Fox News that the “client list” was indeed on her desk awaiting review — a claim now contradicted by the DOJ and FBI.
DOJ and FBI Memo Challenges Bondi’s Claims
The joint memo, obtained by Axios, tells a different story.
It confirms that the Trump administration is releasing prison surveillance footage showing no one entered the area where Epstein died in 2019, supporting the official finding of suicide by the medical examiner.
It also states that no further charges will be brought against others connected to Epstein.
Meanwhile, Ghislaine Maxwell is already serving a 20-year prison sentence for child sex trafficking.
What Happens Next?
With so many unanswered questions and conflicting statements, the Epstein case remains one of the most controversial and closely watched stories in recent years.
The public and Trump supporters alike continue to demand full transparency, accountability, and answers — but for now, the silence from the DOJ and FBI leaves the door wide open for speculation.
