EFF Makes Sweeping Changes in Parliamentary Leadership After Key Resignations in South Africa

The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) has made significant changes in its parliamentary ranks after a few high-profile resignations from prominent party members.

These moves reflect the party’s ongoing efforts to stay effective and strong within Parliament.

Key Resignations Lead to Shuffling

The party recently saw the resignation of its former spokesperson, Mbuyiseni Ndlozi, who stepped down as a Member of Parliament.

Additionally, the position of Chief Whip, once held by EFF co-founder Floyd Shivambu, became vacant after his departure in August 2024 to join the uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) Party.

New Faces in Leadership Positions

In response to these vacancies, the EFF has rearranged its Parliamentary caucus to fill these leadership gaps.

According to EFF spokesperson, Leigh-Ann Mathys, the reshuffled team includes a mix of seasoned members with strong institutional knowledge, as well as fresh leadership from the youth and individuals committed to the party’s values.
