EFCC Releases Ganduje’s Wife

Wife of Kano state Governor Hafsat Umar Ganduje has regained her freedom from the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC). EFCC had arrested Hafsat based on a petition by her son, Abdulazeez Ganduje.

Hafsat, who was compelled to report herself to EFCC headquarters in Abuja on Sunday, was quizzed for more than five hours for her alleged involvement in a land scandal.

She was arrested after failing to show up at the EFCC Abuja headquarters on September 13 upon invitation, stating that she had travelled to the UK at the time to attend the graduation ceremony of her son.

Hafsat, who was drilled over alleged illegal hijack of land property worth billions of naira, was granted administrative bail under the influence of her husband.

Governor Ganduje, who accompanied his wife to the EFCC headquarters, was said to have prevailed on the power that is with substantial influence that eventually saw to the release of his wife.

The Governor and his wife returned to Kano through Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport, Kano, Tuesday morning.
