Natalie Cassidy, an EastEnders actress, is set to co-host a new BBC programme celebrating the Eurovision Song Contest with Eurovision commentator and radio DJ Scott Mills.
The programme, called Get Your Eurovision On, will air on BBC IPlayer between May 7-13, 2023.
The show will look back at iconic performances, staging, memorable moments, and costumes from the Song Contest.
Alongside this, Scott Mills will also provide commentary with Rylan on BBC One and BBC Iplayer for the Eurovision Song Contest semi-finals on May 9 and May 11, and commentary on BBC Radio 2 for the grand final on May 13.
Scott Mills expressed his excitement, saying that presenting from the Grand Final in Liverpool is the ultimate childhood dream come true.
He also stated that he and Rylan will go all out and urged everyone to join the party live on Radio 2.
Additionally, it was announced that a Eurovision icon will step foot on Albert Square in EastEnders.
This announcement was made during a Eurovision Song Contest media launch held at the British Music Experience in Liverpool, the host city for the event.
This year’s slogan is “United by Music,” and the contest will be held at Liverpool’s M&S Bank Arena on May 13, with the United Kingdom hosting for the first time since 1998 on behalf of last year’s winners Ukraine who are unable to host due to the ongoing war.
Graham Norton, Alesha Dixon, Julia Sanina, and Hannah Waddingham will host the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 grand final.
Kate Phillips, BBC Director of Unscripted, expressed her pride and excitement at giving audiences a wide variety of world-class Eurovision content.
The Eurovision Song Contest 2023 will be broadcast live from Liverpool on BBC One and BBC iPlayer, BBC Radio 2, and BBC Sounds.
Overall, the announcement of Natalie Cassidy co-hosting Get Your Eurovision On has generated much excitement and anticipation for the upcoming Eurovision Song Contest.
