Dua Lipa has finally spoken candidly about her romance with actor Callum Turner, sharing just how deeply she’s fallen for him.
In a heartfelt interview with Harper’s Bazaar U.S. for their Global Icons issue, the 29-year-old pop star revealed that opening her heart has been both thrilling and nerve-wracking—but ultimately worth it.
Learning to Let Love In
The singer described her experience as “intensely falling” in love, explaining that she’s embracing vulnerability even if it means risking heartbreak.
“I’ve spent a lot of time being guarded or protecting my heart, and so I’m letting go of that feeling and just being like, ‘Okay, if I’m supposed to get hurt, then this is what’s going to happen.’ I have to just allow love,” she said.
Dua added that she feels “lucky” to be able to experience this kind of connection, emphasizing the beauty of love despite the fear it can bring.
From First Date to Engagement
Dua and Callum first started dating in January 2024 and made their relationship official in June.
A year later, they confirmed their engagement, and since then, Dua has been seen sporting a dazzling diamond ring.
The singer described their decision to commit as more than just a milestone—it’s about building a lifelong partnership.
“This decision to grow old together, to see a life and just… be best friends forever—it’s a really special feeling,” she said.
Balancing Career and Family Plans
The pop star also shared her thoughts on starting a family, admitting that while she loves children, the timing of having kids is complicated by her career.
“It’s like the constant question of when would there ever be a good time—how it would fit in with my job, if I went on tour, how much time out I’d have to take.
I think it’s just one of those things that’s going to happen when it happens.”
Wedding Plans on Hold Amid Busy Schedules
Dua has begun to think about wedding plans but isn’t rushing anything.
She hopes to finish her tour while Callum wraps up filming before they tie the knot.
“I’ve never been someone who’s really thought about a wedding, or dreamt about what kind of bride I would be.
All of a sudden, I’m like: ‘Oh, what would I wear?’” she said.
Despite her busy schedule, she’s “obsessed” with her engagement ring and treasures knowing she’s found someone who truly understands her.

The couple’s romance is filled with “Sliding Doors moments,” where fate seemed to guide them together.
From first meeting at London’s River Cafe to a chance encounter in Los Angeles months later, their connection only deepened.
Asked if she believes they were destined to be together, Dua replied: “One thousand per cent.”

Before Callum, Dua admitted that previous relationships had challenged her confidence.
She told Apple Music’s Zane Lowe that she had to rediscover herself, learn forgiveness, and understand her own non-negotiables in love.
“With every relationship, with every experience you learn about yourself, you learn about things that are hurtful, what you expect, what you should be ready to give.
It goes back to that exchange of vulnerability,” she explained.
