Elon Musk’s Role in the White House: Trump’s Take

Recently, a video resurfaced where Donald Trump addressed the speculation that Elon Musk might be eyeing his position as President of the United States.

Trump wasted no time in dismissing these rumors, offering some biting commentary on Musk’s background as he laughed off the claims.

Trump Responds to Musk’s Alleged Presidential Ambitions

In the clip, which came from a December rally in Arizona, Trump took a firm stand against the idea that Musk could ever replace him in office.

He responded, “No, he is not taking the presidency. I like having smart people [around me].

” Then, with a chuckle, he added, “The new hoax is that ‘President Trump has ceded the presidency to Elon Musk.

’ No, no…that’s not happening.”

Trump continued, making a pointed comment: “He’s not going to be president, that I can tell you.

And I’m safe, you know why? He can’t be; he wasn’t born in this country. Hahaha…”

For context, the U.S. Constitution mandates that only natural-born citizens can become president, though Musk became a naturalized U.S. citizen back in 2002.

A Naturalized Citizen in the White House?

While Musk may not have been born in the U.S., he’s not alone in this regard.

Trump’s wife, Melania, was also born outside the U.S. She hails from Slovenia, making her the second non-American woman to serve as First Lady (the first being Louisa Adams, wife of President John Quincy Adams).

Interestingly, Melania is the first First Lady who was naturalized as a U.S. citizen.

Musk’s White House Role: Not a “Hostile Takeover”

Amid all the speculation, Musk addressed the media in the Oval Office this week alongside Trump and his young son, Little X. Musk took the opportunity to refute claims that he was trying to orchestrate a “hostile takeover” of the White House.

In his response, Musk said, “The public voted for major government reform… and they’re going to get what they voted for.

And that’s what democracy is all about.

” He also defended his role in government, noting that the bureaucracy often holds more power than elected representatives.

The Power Struggle: Who Holds More Influence?

So, with all the intrigue swirling around Musk’s influence in the government, the question remains: Does Elon Musk have more power than Donald Trump?
