Donald and Melania Trump were captured in an awkward exchange aboard Marine One as they returned from the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
In the clip, the 79-year-old president is seen pointing a finger at his 55-year-old wife, while Melania shakes her head in response.
The short video ends with the couple leaving the helicopter hand-in-hand across the White House South Lawn.

Trump Weighs In on Macron Marital Moment
Earlier this year, Trump offered his “marital advice” to French President Emmanuel Macron after global media captured Brigitte Macron shoving her husband on a tarmac in Hanoi.
Asked by Fox News if he had advice for world leaders in such situations, Trump joked: “Make sure the door remains closed.”
He added that he had spoken to Macron afterward and emphasized that the French couple was “fine” despite the incident.
A ‘Triple Sabotage’ at the UN
The Trumps’ UN trip wasn’t without drama. Donald claimed he and Melania faced “triple sabotage” during the visit, beginning with a broken escalator that he said could have caused serious injury.
On Truth Social, Trump wrote: “It’s amazing that Melania and I didn’t fall forward onto the sharp edges of these steel steps, face first.”
He called the incident “absolutely sabotage” and demanded that the responsible parties be arrested.
Audio Issues and Teleprompter Trouble
Trump also criticized the UN’s audio system, saying that Melania could not hear his speech. A UN official clarified that the system was designed to deliver translations through earpieces and that neither Trump nor the first lady had been informed beforehand.
Additionally, Trump claimed the teleprompter “went stone cold dark” during his address. Despite these challenges, he highlighted the positive reception his speech received, suggesting few could have delivered it under the circumstances.
Letter to the UN Secretary General
In response to the escalator and audio issues, Trump announced plans to send a letter to UN Secretary-General António Guterres, demanding an investigation and preservation of all security footage.
The Secret Service is reportedly involved, though no additional comment has been released.
A UN spokesperson explained that the escalator’s emergency stop mechanism was likely triggered by Trump’s videographer walking backward up the steps.
Once reset, the escalator worked normally for the remainder of the morning.
Criticism of the UN
Trump used the technical mishaps to make a broader point: he claimed the United Nations has failed in its mission.
“The United Nations wasn’t there for us,” he said, referencing his past diplomatic efforts.
Despite his complaints, the president highlighted that his speech received strong reviews, framing the difficulties as evidence of his ability to handle challenges few others could.
