What should have been a routine trip from London to Lisbon quickly spiraled into chaos on board a Ryanair flight, leaving passengers rattled and police called in.
It all began with a baby crying — something that’s usually met with a bit of sympathy — but this time, it ended in a full-blown fight between two adults.
Crying Baby Sparks a Chain Reaction
Flight FR1882, which left London Stansted on August 12, became the scene of loud arguments, raised voices, and distressed children.
Multiple youngsters could be heard sobbing as passengers shouted over one another.
One mother, trying to calm her frightened child, gently reassured them with, “It’s okay, it’s okay.
We’re going now,” even as tensions escalated just a few seats away.
Confrontation in the Cabin
In the middle of the chaos, one man was seen physically restraining another, right in front of the mother and her young child.
While the disagreement reportedly began mid-flight, things really flared up after the plane touched down in Lisbon.
The argument didn’t die down at the gate — in fact, it got worse.
Police Called After Landing
The captain had no choice but to involve local authorities.
Police boarded the aircraft to deal with the dispute, and as a result, everyone was kept on board for around an hour before being allowed to disembark.
Ryanair has not yet issued an official comment on the incident.
Not the First In-Flight Disruption This Month
This wasn’t Ryanair’s only brush with in-flight trouble recently.
Just weeks earlier, a separate flight was delayed for two hours after a young man was accused of vaping in the aircraft’s toilet.
The Vaping Incident That Brought Six Cops on Board
That earlier case happened at Edinburgh Airport on a Ryanair flight heading to Alicante.
According to fellow passenger Tristan James Walker, the trouble started when the toilet smoke alarm went off.
The pilot allegedly told the 21-year-old passenger — dubbed the “vaper” — that he would be removed from the aircraft.
Moments later, six police officers boarded, escorted the man off, and placed him into a waiting van. Police later confirmed he was charged with an aviation offence.
