Disney worker destroys magical marriage proposal moment by snatching ring away

An overzealous member of staff donning Mickey Mouse ears snatched a Disney couple’s romantic moment.

The couple was in the shadow of the Cinderella castle when the worker leapt between them and grabbed the ring from the fiancé’s hand, according to video from Disneyland Paris.

During the unusual conversation last week, the employee beckoned the pair off the platform they were standing on, and the astonished duo followed him down.

Some called the Disney employee “evil,” while others claimed he made a wise step to prevent other visitors from staging marriage proposals there.

‘POS destroyed my best friends moment’ was the headline of the video, which was shared on Reddit. He requested permission ahead of time.’

Onlookers can be heard clapping as the man falls to his knees and his girlfriend covers her face with her hands in amazement in the film.

The crowd starts to boo after the staff person dashes into frame, grabs the engagement ring, and summons the stunned pair down to another place. The staff man shakes his head and smiles.

As fairytale music floats through the air, the pair descends the steps.

When they get to the bottom, a staff worker arrives to take back the ring and remark, ‘That’s the rule.’

‘She said yes,’ the man says, holding out his hand and pointing off-screen, though it’s unclear if he’s referring to his would-be bride or a staff member off-camera.

‘That’s great, but it’ll be even better over here,’ the staff member in ears says, unmoved as he waves the woman down the stairwell.

The camera then pulls back for a second to reveal that the platform off which the pair had just been escorted is behind a locked gate.

The footage has elicited varied reactions on the internet, with some vilifying the staff member and others defending him, claiming that the pair clearly did not have permission to be where they were.

‘He looked genuinely thrilled to have the chance to ruin a romantic moment,’ one Reddit user remarked. ‘That’s a really bad, evil guy right there.’

‘Those Mickey ears have a lot of power,’ observed another.
