Khumalo
In a dramatic shift no one saw coming, former advocate Malesela Teffo—once known for accusing Kelly Khumalo of being involved in the murder of her partner, Senzo Meyiwa—is now calling on the public to stop harassing the singer online.
Yes, the same man who stirred outrage with explosive claims is now urging South Africans to show kindness and let the legal process unfold.
Teffo Backtracks on Accusations and Urges the Public to Respect Kelly
Just last week, Teffo reignited controversy by declaring on Podcast and Chill that Kelly Khumalo had pulled the trigger on Senzo Meyiwa.
His statement spread like wildfire, triggering heated reactions on social media.
To rewind a bit—Senzo Meyiwa, the late Orlando Pirates goalkeeper, was shot and killed back in October 2014 at Kelly’s mother’s home in Vosloorus.
Since then, five men have been charged, but the case has dragged on for years with no final verdict.
Even though Teffo was disbarred from practicing law due to misconduct, he hasn’t stayed quiet.
He continued throwing out bold accusations—until now.
In a surprising U-turn, he released a video (reshared by Ntsiki Mazwai on X) asking the nation to stop attacking Kelly online.
“She’s an Important Witness,” Says Teffo
In the video, Teffo took a softer tone, saying:
“I want to make a plea to my countrymen and women regarding the treatment of Ms Nonhlanhla Kelly Khumalo.
She responded to what I said on Podcast and Chill—not out of hostility, but to clarify her position.”
He stressed Kelly’s importance as a witness in the trial, calling on the public to stop throwing insults and instead let her fulfill her role in the courtroom.
“We need her to testify. Please, stop saying cruel things about her,” he added.
Teffo Claims Kelly Has Always Been Willing to Testify
According to Teffo, the Empini singer has never dodged the witness stand.
He says the real delay is coming from state advocate George Baloyi, who he believes is intentionally not calling Kelly or Longwe Twala to testify.
Teffo insists these two could offer pivotal testimony that might prove the five accused men are innocent.
He even suggested that the real killers are still out there because the early investigation was flawed.
Teffo Vows to Return to the Case and Reveal the Truth
Teffo didn’t stop there. He boldly promised to return to the high-profile case and bring Kelly to testify within two months—claiming this would finally expose the full truth.
“I assure you I’m going back to this case,” he said.
“Kelly will testify, and we will close this case with the truth. I’m asking everyone—please show her some respect.”
