The Kremlin confirmed that a Russian citizen, previously imprisoned in the U.S., is set to return home.

The announcement came from Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary for the Russian leader, highlighting the latest development in ongoing diplomatic talks between the two nations.

Marc Fogel Receives Presidential Pardon

The return of the Russian national is part of an exchange deal involving Marc Fogel, a former U.S. diplomat and teacher who had been serving a prison sentence in Russia.

“As we previously reported, contacts between the relevant agencies have intensified recently.

As a result, Fogel was released, as well as one Russian citizen who is currently imprisoned in the U.S.

This citizen will also be returned to their homeland in the coming days,” the Kremlin spokesperson stated.
