Desperate 24-Year-Old Man’s Escape Fails as 4X4 Deliberately Runs Him Over, Crushing His Skull in Hailsham

In an unthinkable and tragic turn of events, a young man was deliberately run over and killed by a 4×4 car in a violent act of retaliation.

The incident occurred in Hailsham, East Sussex, shortly after a brawl had taken place, leaving the victim with no chance to escape.

Jack Field, 24, was trying to flee when he was struck by a Mitsubishi Shogun, which caused him to fall.

Tragically, the vehicle then ran over his head, crushing his skull and ending his life instantly.

The Violence Unfolds

Emergency responders, including police and paramedics, rushed to the scene, where they found Jack lying in the road, suffering from severe head injuries and surrounded by a pool of blood.

Kyle Dumble, 27, has since been charged with murder in connection with Jack’s death and also faces a charge of attempting to cause grievous bodily harm to another man, Jake Barry.

Dumble’s brother, Reece Dumble, 29, has been charged with intimidation and assault of a witness related to the case.

The horrifying incident took place on the night of Saturday, November 18, 2023, as the victim was out socializing with friends.

The trial at Hove Crown Court has shed light on the events leading to the fatal crash.

The Chain of Events

The night began innocently enough, with Jack and his friends having a few drinks and heading home in high spirits.

However, things quickly escalated when they encountered the Mitsubishi Shogun, driven by Jimmy Stonestreet.

After a brief exchange, Stonestreet allegedly shouted at Jake Barry, which prompted a confrontation.

What started as a verbal altercation between Stonestreet and Barry soon escalated into a physical fight.

Kyle Dumble, witnessing the altercation, jumped into the driver’s seat of the Mitsubishi, making the decision to use the vehicle as a weapon.

He drove the 4×4 towards the group of men, hitting someone before reversing and stopping briefly.

While the situation could have ended there, the violence only intensified.

The Fatal Moment

Dumble’s actions took a deadly turn when he deliberately reversed the Mitsubishi at speed, aiming it directly at Jake Barry and Jack Field, who were hiding behind a transit van.

In a calculated move, Dumble drove the car into the two men, knocking Jack to the ground and causing devastating injuries.

Prosecutors argue that Dumble used the vehicle intentionally to harm the men, and in doing so, deliberately ran over Jack’s head, killing him instantly.

The prosecution emphasized the reckless nature of Dumble’s actions, noting that a large vehicle like the Mitsubishi was no match for human beings.

The Aftermath and Family Tributes

In the aftermath of Jack’s tragic death, his family described him as a ‘hero’ and ‘respectful gentleman’ who was always putting others before himself.

They expressed how deeply they have been affected by his loss, stating that Jack would always be remembered and loved.

His family described a gaping hole left in their lives that will never be filled, but they will carry his memory forever.

The trial is ongoing, with further developments expected as the case unfolds.
