Paramount+ fans got a major thrill this week as the first trailer for the second season of Landman dropped.
Social media erupted over the glimpse of Demi Moore stepping into a much larger role, finally giving audiences more of the screen time they had been craving.
From Supporting Role to Leading Lady
In season one, Moore’s character, oil executive Cami Miller, had a surprisingly small presence, leaving viewers disappointed given the Golden Globe winner’s star power.
But the season one finale changed everything: the death of Cami’s husband, Monty Miller (Jon Hamm), sets the stage for her to rise as a central figure in the high-stakes world of West Texas oil.
Now, Moore’s Cami is partnering with Tommy Norris (Billy Bob Thornton) to lead M*Tex Oil, putting her right at the heart of the action.
Fans have been quick to notice.
Fans Celebrate Moore’s Expanded Role
Comments on Paramount+’s Instagram post reflected the excitement:
“We love Landman! What we don’t understand is why Demi Moore got top billing during the first season when she actually had very few appearances or lines.”
Another fan chimed in:
“So glad Demi’s role in this season seems to be more center stage.
I remember being disappointed in the first season and basically having her as a background character.”
Some speculated that the writers were either planning this all along or responding to audience feedback.
User @mateobernabefierros wrote:
“If so, I’m glad they listened, especially since she’s a legend, icon, and a great actress.
Plus, after her huge comeback from last year, they needed to give her more.”
Fashion stylist Maeve Reilly added her excitement simply:
“Demi!!!! I’m so excited for this!!”
And one fan went further, predicting awards buzz:
“Yesss more Demi Moore. It’s looking like an Emmy nomination 2026”
A Star-Studded Return
Landman continues to explore the cutthroat world of billionaires chasing fortunes through West Texas oil rigs.
Season two, based on Imperative Entertainment and Texas Monthly’s popular podcast Boomtown, will bring back Ali Larter, 49, as the provocatively wild Angela Norris, Tommy’s ex-wife.
Fans were also thrilled to see Sam Elliott, 81, featured prominently in the trailer.
Paramount+’s official Instagram post teased:
“It’s about to come to a head.”
#Landman returns November 16th, only on @ParamountPlus. #LandmanPPlus #ParamountPlus
The series was renewed in March, with production beginning in April.
Cast Members Reflect on the Show
Ali Larter, speaking last year on Good Morning America, praised both the cast and crew:
“I get to work with an incredible cast and the entire crew is so gifted and talented that I just feel like I’m playing at the top of the game, and that’s really exciting.”
She also highlighted the audience’s love for the story:
“Now to see the fans really love these characters and the story that’s unfolding is very exciting, because you never know when you’re making something if it’s gonna connect with an audience—and this show obviously has.”
Larter singled out creator Taylor Sheridan for praise:
“I just think he’s an incredible storyteller and he loves to write these dynamic women, and that’s very, very fun to play.”
With Moore taking a more prominent role, season two promises even bigger drama, high stakes, and plenty of screen-stealing performances.
Mark your calendars: November 16 is when the oil boom heats up again on Paramount+.
