When a breakup gets messy, it’s hard to imagine things could spiral even further—but somehow, Zach Bryan and Brianna “Chickenfry” LaPaglia’s story just keeps heating up.
Now, the country singer is once again in the spotlight after being linked to a woman who fans say looks almost identical to his ex.
And Barstool Sports’ Dave Portnoy isn’t letting that slide.
Dave Portnoy Calls Out the Lookalike
Portnoy, who’s been publicly backing LaPaglia ever since her dramatic breakup with Bryan, didn’t hold back on his latest podcast appearance.
On a recent episode of The Unnamed Show, he called Zach a “psychopath” after pointing out just how eerily similar Zach’s rumored new girlfriend, Samantha Leonard, looks to Brianna.
“It’s insane,” Portnoy told co-hosts Kirk Minihane and Ryan Whitney.
“This guy went and built a Brianna 2.0 in a lab. I don’t even know what I’m looking at here.”
Whitney was visibly shocked when a side-by-side image of Leonard and LaPaglia flashed on screen, exclaiming: “What! That’s actually bizarre.”
A Relationship That Crashed and Burned—Literally
This isn’t the first time Portnoy has publicly gone after Bryan.
Last year, after LaPaglia’s emotional breakup from the singer, Portnoy even released a diss track called “Country Diddy” and repeatedly blasted him on air.
Things escalated again this week when Bryan posted a video of himself setting fire to a Barstool Sports flag in his front yard.
The flag, featuring the brand’s well-known “Saturdays Are for the Boys” slogan, was torched before Bryan smashed it with a golf club and rode off on a tractor—yes, really.
He soundtracked the video with Tyler Childers’ Bitin’ List, a song with some pointed lyrics like:
“To put it plain, I just don’t like you… and if there ever come a time I got rabies, you’re high on my bitin’ list.”
Brianna’s Restraining Order Hint
LaPaglia didn’t stay quiet. Soon after Bryan’s flag-burning stunt, the 26-year-old influencer posted a screenshot showing she had googled: “how do I file a restraining order.”
Portnoy, ever the troll, reposted the video of Zach’s bonfire antics and captioned it sarcastically: “Oh no. How are we gonna recover?”
From Red Carpets to Red Flags
Brianna and Zach’s romance started with a spark in May 2023 when they met at the Academy of Country Music Awards.
Things moved quickly—they were walking red carpets together by the 2024 Grammys.
But by October 2024, it all came crashing down.
Zach took to Instagram with a long, emotional post confirming the breakup, calling Brianna someone he “respects and loves with every ounce” of his heart.
“I’ve had an incredibly hard year,” he wrote, “and thought it would be beneficial for both of us to go our separate ways… I am not perfect and never will be.”
He also asked fans to give both of them privacy, adding: “With everything I am and to anyone I let down, I am sorry.”
Brianna Felt Blindsided
Just over 30 minutes after Zach’s breakup announcement, Brianna posted a very different message.
She said she was blindsided and needed to step back from social media to heal.
“Gonna hop off social media for a while and attempt to heal privately,” she wrote. “I love you guys so much, thank you for all your kind words.”
Things only got messier from there.
Accusations of Emotional Abuse
In the weeks that followed, Brianna revealed more about their relationship, alleging that Zach had emotionally manipulated her.
She claimed he had chosen an engagement ring for her while simultaneously cheating.
She also said he dropped the breakup news publicly before giving her any real heads-up—and that he tried to get her to sign an NDA, which she refused, along with what she described as “bribes” from his team.
Still No Peace in Sight
It’s been nearly a year since their breakup, but with new girlfriends, fiery Instagram posts, and increasingly bold comments from Portnoy, it’s clear this drama isn’t over.
And with a lookalike now apparently in the picture, one thing’s for sure—everyone involved is still very much on edge.
