Dallas family finds their home turning into a mini wildlife sanctuary as Brian Schottenheimer battles waves of wasps owls and snakes in Texas

Dallas Cowboys head coach Brian Schottenheimer and his family are beginning to joke that their house might qualify as the next Noah’s Ark.

What started as a couple of odd animal encounters has now turned into a full-blown parade of uninvited visitors.

Another Weekend, Another Creature Crisis

Just when the Schottenheimers thought things couldn’t get any stranger, hundreds—yes, hundreds—of wasps decided to drop by.

Over the weekend, the insects swarmed the family’s home, turning a quiet day inside into something that felt more like a nature documentary in fast-forward.

Gemmi’s “You Won’t Believe This” Moment

Brian’s wife, Gemmi, filmed what she was dealing with and posted it to Instagram.

Her video showed piles of wasps resting on the windowsill like they paid rent.

Across the clip she wrote, exhausted and half-laughing, “Can’t make it up… Snakes + an owl + wasps,” topped off with the kind of emoji you use when you’re too tired to scream.

Cue the Creepy Soundtrack

As the camera moved upward, even more wasps were buzzing around the ceiling.

To set the mood, Gemmi played the eerie “Twilight Zone” theme over the footage — fitting, considering the family seems stuck in their own supernatural sitcom lately.

A Beekeeper With Bare-Handed Bravery

Thankfully, help showed up in the form of Little Giant Beekeepers, a local Dallas pest-control team.

According to Gemmi, their extermination hero went full action-movie mode and crushed “at least 100” wasps with his bare hands.

She even posted a photo of him holding the casualties like he’d just completed a badge-earning mission.

The Third Wildlife Episode in Just Months

The wasp invasion wasn’t a one-off. The family has been dealing with a steady rotation of unexpected guests.

Just a few weeks earlier came the great owl incident — an experience none of them will forget anytime soon.

The Owl That Thought It Lived There

On Halloween, Gemmi rushed home after her son Sutton sent a frantic text about a huge bird crashing into the house.

Not just any bird — he described it as “hawk-sized.”

When she got there, sure enough, an owl was perched calmly in the front window, acting like it owned the place.

Chaos, Towels, Barking Dogs, and a Very Stubborn Owl

The family tried every reasonable method (and a few questionable ones) to get the owl to leave.

At one point the bird settled high on a ledge while the dog barked and a family friend waved a towel like he was coaching a very confused animal.

Then came the screaming. The owl took off across the room, smacking into windows while everyone ducked and yelled. It was a full-house panic sequence.

A Rescue by “Sergeant Kyle”

Eventually they called in animal control, and their savior — Sergeant Kyle — arrived.

With one well-timed net swoop, he captured the owl and carried it outside.

Moments later, the bird flew off into the night, ending the ordeal.

And Before That? Snake Bites. Of Course.

All of this came shortly after two of the family’s dogs were bitten by snakes.

At this point, Brian Schottenheimer couldn’t help but wonder if the owl was hunting the snakes or whether the animal kingdom had simply developed a group chat about the family’s address.

What Could Possibly Be Next?

With snakes, owls, and wasps already checking in, even the Schottenheimers are starting to ask the obvious: what creature is going to show up next?
