Cruz Beckham Wows East London Pub Crowd and Performs Original Songs During Surprise Music Debut at The George Tavern

After spending the summer cruising the Mediterranean on his family’s £16 million superyacht, Cruz Beckham, 20, traded sun-drenched decks for the intimate vibe of a local east London pub.

The youngest son of David and Victoria Beckham made a surprise move to kickstart his music career in front of a modest crowd of around 100 at The George Tavern in Shadwell.

Debut Performance at an Iconic Venue

Known for hosting legendary artists like Amy Winehouse, the 17th-century pub provided the perfect backdrop for Cruz’s first public gig.

Taking to a small wooden stage with a live band, he performed four of his own new songs: Optics, Caroline, For Your Love, and Lick The Toad.

Before launching into his set, he told the audience,

“This is really special for me. I just want to thank everyone for being here tonight.”

A Promising Indie Sound

An industry insider who attended the Tuesday night gig said Cruz was initially a bit nervous but quickly won over the crowd.

“Once he got going, the crowd went wild for him. He’s clearly been listening to Oasis this summer.

He has a decent voice, can play guitar, and his songs are catchy,” the source said, noting that his style evokes early 2000s indie bands like The Kooks and the Kaiser Chiefs.

Supporting the Arts in Historic Spaces

The George Tavern itself carries a rich musical history.

Saved from redevelopment in 2013 thanks to campaigns supported by supermodel Kate Moss and Georgia May Jagger, it has become a beloved venue for both emerging and established artists.

Cruz’s choice of venue reflected a desire to connect with music in an authentic, grassroots way.

Keeping It Real Without the Celebrity Spotlight

While none of his famous family members were present, Cruz’s girlfriend Jackie Apostel, 29, was there to cheer him on.

She later shared on social media that she couldn’t hold back tears during his performance.

“Safe to say I did not keep it together,” she wrote.

On Instagram, she praised his dedication and talent:

“Unannounced, just working on his craft, doing his little thing, having fun, learning, preparing, all HIS songs made by HIM, played by HIM, sang by HIM, absolutely smashing it, I love you.”

Style and Stage Presence

Cruz played a striking red electric guitar that matched his T-shirt, which bore the slogan “Didn’t they do well,” a nod to the late Bruce Forsyth’s famous catchphrase on The Generation Game.

He paired the top with relaxed blue jeans, keeping the look casual yet confident as he delivered his first live performance.

Album on the Horizon

Fans won’t have long to wait for more music from Cruz, as his debut album is expected to drop later this month.

He teased the release on social media with a snap that included the date 24.10.25, hinting at the start of a promising music journey that he hopes to build entirely on his own merits.
