Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) Director Alexander Bortnikov has briefed President Vladimir Putin about significant developments in the investigation of the Crocus City Hall terrorist attack.

According to Bortnikov, 11 individuals have been apprehended in connection with the attack, including four directly involved in the shooting.

These suspects were detained in the Bryansk region, several hours apart, shedding light on the orchestrated nature of the crime.

Terrorists’ Cross-Border Plans Unveiled: Failed Escape and Bryansk Arrests

The FSB has disclosed that the terrorists meticulously planned the attack on Crocus City Hall, intending to flee across the Russian-Ukrainian border afterward.

Despite their contacts on the Ukrainian side, law enforcement foiled their escape plans.

Reports suggest the suspects were intercepted in the Bryansk region, failing to reach their intended destination due to vigilant security measures.

Details of Arrests and Vehicle Chase: Identity of Suspects Revealed

On the night of March 23, security forces located a suspicious vehicle in the Bryansk region, leading to a dramatic chase and subsequent shootout.

Among the occupants were Makhmadrasul Nasridinov, Rivozhidin Ismonov, Safolzoda Shokhinjonn, and Rustam Nazarov. While two were apprehended, two managed to escape, prompting a search operation in the surrounding forest.

However, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Tajikistan denied their involvement, asserting their presence in Tajikistan at the time.

Terrorist Confession Unveils Shocking Motive: Payment for Atrocities

A startling revelation emerged from one of the suspects, who confessed to participating in the Crocus City Hall terrorist attack for financial gain.

The individual admitted to accepting 500,000 rubles (approximately $10,000) to carry out the killings.

Allegedly recruited through Telegram channels, the perpetrators were promised monetary rewards and provided with weapons after a month of training.

This confession sheds light on the mercenary nature of the attack, highlighting the influence of online radicalization.

Rising Death Toll and Ongoing Investigation: Latest Developments

As investigations continue, reports indicate that all detainees hold Russian passports. Additionally, the death toll from the Crocus City Hall terrorist attack has surged to 115, underscoring the severity of the incident.

The FSB and other security agencies are actively pursuing leads to apprehend accomplices and prevent future terrorist threats.
