Covid-19: Nigeria Records 228 New Cases As Infection Hits 252,187

On Sunday, January 23rd, 2022, the number of confirmed cases of Covid-19 rose to 252,187, with 537 new cases and no deaths reported in Nigeria.

Across its daily update on Coronavirus, the Nigerian Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) said 226,408 cases had been discharged and 3,124 deaths had been documented in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory of the country.

According to the NCDC, new cases have been reported from 13 states and the FCT, with the FCT reporting the most with 110+ new cases.

In further report from NCDC, Gombe had 38, Lagos-32, Osun-14, Taraba-12, Imo-5,Kaduna-5, Rivers-4, Borno-2, Kano-2, Bauchi-1, Delta-1, Ekiti-1, Ogun-1.

Meanwhile, a multi-sectoral national emergency operations centre (EOC), activated at Level 3, continues to coordinate the national response activities.
