CONYIP Endorses Senator Muhammad For National APC Chairman

The endorsement comes as the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) National Convention picks up steam, with party members and political pressure groups exerting increasing pressure and weight on the selection of their favored hopefuls for the APC national leadership

The Coalition of Northern Youths in Politics (CONYIP) recently endorsed Senator Muhammad Sani Musa (313), who represents Niger state’s Niger East Senatorial district in the National Assembly’s upper chambers, as the party’s national chairman.

The Coalition in a press statement shortly after its management meeting in Bauchi on Saturday, stated that Senator Musa’s uncompromising commitment to the APC right from its merger days to date makes him the right choice for the office.

The group’s chairman, Engr. Auwal M. Gotal stated in the statement that their body okayed Senator Musa’s commitment towards promoting youth inclusiveness in governance as the cardinal reason for the endorsement to the APC national chairmanship.

Auwal Gotal further stated that Senator Musa is the best candidate for the position of the national chairman of the party stating that, “We want him in the position because of his concern for the party and it’s members”.

He revealed that the Coalition has also resolved to go round the 19 Northern States to garner more supports from stakeholders for Senator Muhammad Musa before the APC convention slated for February 26, this year.

According to him, “Sen Sani Musa (313) is the only viable option that will unite the party while also maintaining strong neutrality in spearheading the affairs of the Party. It is against this backdrop that we are strongly behind the candidature of Sen. Sani Musa 313.”

He therefore solicited the support of all APC stakeholders, particularly the party’s national delegates to the national convention to ensure that they take decision in favour of national interest of all APC members in Nigeria.

He also stated that the group had conducted wide consultations within the party, women and youth groups before endorsement.
