When you’re in love with someone in the public eye—especially someone leading a major federal agency—things can get messy fast.

That’s the situation country singer and conservative media figure Alexis Wilkins has found herself in lately.

After the FBI and Justice Department released their long-awaited memo on Jeffrey Epstein’s case, some corners of the internet decided Wilkins was more than just Kash Patel’s girlfriend—they accused her of being a spy.

The “Honeypot” Conspiracy That Took Over the Internet

Online conspiracy theorists have been circulating the claim that Wilkins, 26, is an undercover Israeli intelligence agent—what some call a “honeypot”—sent to influence her boyfriend, FBI Director Kash Patel, 45.

Speaking with Megyn Kelly on her podcast, Wilkins didn’t hold back.

“It’s accusing me of manipulating the person I love,” she said, calling the theory both ridiculous and hurtful.

“It would’ve been a really long-game play,” she joked, pointing out she and Patel have been together for more than two years—long before his FBI appointment.

How a Country Singer Became a MAGA Target

Wilkins isn’t just known for her music—she’s also a conservative media personality on PragerU.

Her public profile grew earlier this year when she attended Patel’s FBI confirmation hearings and swearing-in ceremony. That’s when people really started connecting the dots, even if the dots didn’t quite make sense.

The Daily Mail previously reported on their relationship, which hadn’t been widely known before then.

But what surprised Wilkins most was how she suddenly became a punching bag for the far-right, especially those furious with how the Epstein investigation wrapped up.

Fuel for the Fire: PragerU and Israeli Connections

Adding more fuel to the fire, PragerU’s CEO, Marissa Streit, once served in Israeli intelligence.

That association made the organization—and by extension, Wilkins—a lightning rod for anti-Semitic and conspiratorial attacks online.

Some online accounts even misidentified her religion, wrongly labeling her a “Jewish country singer,” despite the fact that Wilkins is Christian.

She admitted that the attacks didn’t come as a total shock. “Some of it didn’t surprise me,” she told Kelly, explaining that corners of the internet often look for something—anything—to latch onto. “They want to connect things… and I get it.”

Epstein Memo Offers Few Answers, Fuels More Distrust

The controversy around Wilkins ties back to the recently released memo by the DOJ and FBI about Jeffrey Epstein’s death.

Many who were hoping for bombshell revelations were left disappointed.

The memo reaffirmed the government’s original stance: Epstein died by suicide in his cell in August 2019, and there is no “client list” to speak of.

No new prosecutions will follow, Attorney General Pam Bondi and Director Patel confirmed.

The agencies did release an 11-hour surveillance video from the night Epstein died—but a mysterious “missing minute” of footage sparked more outrage than clarity.

Initially explained as a technical glitch, it was later revealed that the government actually had the full footage all along, but chose not to release that portion. To this day, it’s unclear what that minute contains—or if the public will ever see it.

Online Harassment Takes a Personal Toll

As that scandal simmered, Wilkins has had to deal with her own personal version of fallout.

She’s been doxxed, harassed, and attacked online, all because of theories that tie her to Israeli intelligence. Her family hasn’t been spared either.

Still, Wilkins is trying to keep a level head about it. She understands that many people are desperate for explanations after years of public disillusionment.

But she also believes they’re connecting the wrong dots.

“They’ve taken pieces of evidence and tied them together in all of the wrong ways,” she said.

Age Gap and Public Scrutiny Add Another Layer

Another reason the relationship is under scrutiny? The 19-year age gap between Wilkins and Patel.

Some have used that as supposed “evidence” that something shady is going on. Wilkins, however, brushes it off.

“When I met him, I just liked that he was so honest,” she shared. “He’s exactly who he is all the time.”

Their shared values, especially around patriotism, form the real foundation of their relationship—not manipulation, not espionage.

What Wilkins Really Wants People to Know

In the end, Wilkins hopes people will take a step back and consider the humanity behind the headlines.

Yes, she’s a public figure. Yes, she’s dating the FBI Director.

But at the core of it all, she’s just someone trying to live her life—truthfully, openly, and with love.

“He’s the most honest, most integrity-filled person I’ve really experienced,” she said of Patel. “And I’m proud to be with him.”
