Sometimes, love shows up in the most surprising places—and for Carmen Andrade, that place was a dating app.

In a world where dating can already feel complicated, Carmen, who is a conjoined twin, managed to find a deep and lasting connection.

And now, after four years of building their relationship, she and her boyfriend, Daniel McCormack, have quietly tied the knot.

A Private Celebration Filled with Meaning

Carmen and Daniel first met on Hinge back in 2020.

Their bond grew steadily, and last October, they decided to make things official in a simple, intimate ceremony.

They “eloped” to Lover’s Leap Bridge in New Milford, Connecticut, where they exchanged vows in front of a small group of close family members.

Carmen later shared the happy news in a casual moment at the end of one of the twins’ YouTube videos titled Overdue Update!

She smiled, held up her hand to show off her wedding ring, and said, “I did get married.”

Daniel then joined her on screen, laughing and proudly declaring, “I got an upgrade. I’m the husband now.”

Keeping It Close and Personal

Daniel, who is 28, said their wedding was a relaxed gathering that only included their local family.

He made it clear he wasn’t interested in a massive guest list full of distant relatives.

“I don’t like those weddings where they invite the third cousin twice removed,” he said with a smirk.

“I’m sorry, but great uncle Patrick, whom I haven’t seen since I was three, you’re not worth a seat at my table.”

Carmen echoed his sentiments and added that the wedding took place during autumn—her favorite season.

“It was very pretty. It was in autumn, which made it even prettier,” she said fondly.

A Unique Wedding Look

As for her bridal gown, Carmen went completely against the grain.

She admitted that wearing white just didn’t feel like her style.

“I did not wear white. Don’t regret it. I don’t like white. Not my thing,” she explained.

Instead, she chose a dazzling emerald green dress that sparkled beautifully in the outdoor setting.

Daniel complemented her look with a classic tuxedo and a matching dark green bowtie, creating a lovely coordinated look that felt true to who they are.

Clarifying Their Union

Of course, with Carmen being conjoined to her twin sister Lupita, there was bound to be some confusion online.

So, Carmen made sure to be crystal clear.

“Before anybody gets it twisted,” she said, pointing to herself and Daniel, “we got married.”

She then gestured to include Lupita and added, “But we did not get married.”

Different Paths, Shared Respect

While Carmen has chosen marriage, her sister Lupita has no plans to follow that route.

Identifying as asexual, Lupita explained, “I don’t want to get married… because I don’t want to.”

The sisters are extremely close, and Lupita has been fully supportive of Carmen and Daniel’s journey together.

Carmen has talked openly about how dating was once a complicated and awkward experience.

Before meeting Daniel, it was often a “learning process for everybody.”

Both twins have also spoken out against the way people sometimes view them, sharing that they’ve been inappropriately fetishized, particularly around the misconception that someone would be “having sex with two people at once.”

Defying the Odds Since Birth

Born in Mexico in 2001, Carmen and Lupita moved to Connecticut when they were toddlers.

The sisters are conjoined from the chest to the pelvis and share several organs and limbs.

Carmen controls their right leg, while Lupita manages the left.

Doctors didn’t expect them to survive more than a few days after birth.

But the twins proved them wrong—again and again.

Over the years, they have undergone intensive physical therapy to learn how to sit, walk, and live life in harmony.

At just four years old, they took their first steps together.

Living Life Without Limits

Despite their condition, Carmen and Lupita don’t see themselves as disabled.

“It’s only a disability if you make it a disability,” they once said.

The two have grown into confident, resilient women who have adapted beautifully to their shared life.

Surgical separation has always been an option—but a risky one.

Doctors have warned that trying to separate them could be fatal or require long-term critical care.

So, the twins made the decision early on to stay together—and they’ve learned how to thrive as a team.

Competing for America’s Favorite Couple

Now that Carmen and Daniel are officially married, they’re setting their sights on a new goal.

The couple is currently competing in a contest to be named “America’s Favorite Couple,” where they’re holding a respectable ninth-place spot.

What’s Next for the Newlyweds?

As for what the future holds, Carmen and Daniel seem to be embracing it with humor, love, and a strong sense of identity.

Their story isn’t just about romance—it’s about breaking boundaries, challenging stereotypes, and living authentically.

Whatever comes next, they’ll face it together—with Lupita right by their side.
