 Tragic Murder of Tommy Cooper’s Niece: Man Pleads Guilty in Shocking Case

In a heartbreaking turn of events, Sabrina Cooper, the 68-year-old niece of comedy legend Tommy Cooper, was found murdered at her residence in Eastbourne, East Sussex, last December.


Her tragic death has left the community in shock and mourning. Sabrina, the daughter of Tommy Cooper’s brother David, was a former magic shop owner and a beloved member of the Eastbourne community.

The Gruesome Discovery: Concerns for Sabrina’s welfare led officers to her home, where they discovered her lifeless body.

The scene was horrifying, with Sabrina having suffered multiple stab wounds to her chest and abdomen.

She was found lying in a pool of her own blood, marking a senseless and violent end to her life.

Guilty Plea and Court Proceedings: During the recent proceedings at Lewes Crown Court, Tony King, a 59-year-old resident living just minutes away from Sabrina, pleaded guilty to her murder.

King, dressed in a grey sweatshirt and grey tracksuit bottoms, displayed a stoic demeanor as he admitted to the killing.


In the courtroom, Sabrina’s daughter, Natasha, fought back tears while witnessing King’s admission.

Life Imprisonment and Sentencing: Judge Christine Laing KC stated that the only appropriate sentence for King was life imprisonment.

The focus of the court now lies in determining the minimum sentence that must be served before the possibility of parole can be considered.

Awaiting Sentencing: Tony King, having pleaded guilty to the murder of Sabrina Cooper, will face sentencing at Lewes Crown Court in the coming month.
