Comedian Mongezi “Tol A$$ Mo” Mahlangu has sparked outrage after making an insensitive comment regarding the late son of traditional healer Gogo Skhotheni.
His remarks, made during an appearance on Podcast and Chill, have drawn sharp criticism from both Skhotheni and her husband, Monde Shange.
Gogo Skhotheni Responds to Hurtful Claims
It has been a difficult few months for Gogo Skhotheni and her family since the tragic passing of her son, Monde Junior.
The young boy, who was born without the tube that carries food to the stomach, had spent nearly two years in the hospital before passing away in September 2024.
During the podcast, Tol A$$ Mo suggested that traditional healers should avoid using muti during pregnancy, implying that such practices may have contributed to Monde Junior’s death.
His comments did not sit well with Skhotheni, who took to TikTok to express her anger.
In a heated video, she lashed out at the comedian, calling his statement cruel and unnecessary.
She also told him to refrain from mentioning her daughter and took a jab at his hygiene, saying he should wash himself.
Monde Shange Calls Out Tol A$$ Mo
Skhotheni’s husband, Monde, also addressed the situation, condemning the comedian for his lack of sensitivity and respect.
“There are lines that should never be crossed, and one of them is speaking on the loss of someone’s child with disrespect and ignorance,” Monde stated.
He went on to criticize Tol A$$ Mo for making baseless claims, calling his words reckless and inhumane.
“My wife, as a mother, has been carrying unimaginable pain every single day since Monde Junior left us.
To suggest that her work as a traditional healer had anything to do with his passing is not only false but deeply offensive.”
A Family in Mourning
Monde also pointed out that losing a child is a devastating experience, and making accusations during such a painful time only adds to the suffering.
“No parent deserves to bury their own child, and no grieving mother should have to endure such baseless accusations while trying to heal.”
The backlash against Tol A$$ Mo continues to grow, with many people expressing their support for Gogo Skhotheni and her family.
As the debate rages on, the comedian has yet to respond publicly to the criticism.
