Cleric Cautions Nigerians Against False Religion, Extremism

Christians have been called upon to be wary of false religion as they continue the journey of eternal race.

The Chaplain of Divine Mercy Catholic Chaplaincy, Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Teaching Hospital Amaku-Awka, Reverend Father Justine Ezechukwu made the call in a homily to mark the last Sunday in the month of August.

Father Ezechukwu who dwelt on the theme “Beware of Religion” regretted that many people are suffering because of false religious teachings and urged true believers to avoid religious externalism

The Catholic priest added that most People have completely turned away from the true Word of God because of false teachings by some acclaimed men of God.

He urged the congregation of Christ not to be afraid to stand firm and defend what is right, as religion remains the moral conscience of the world.

In the same vein, the Guest Preacher at the Chapel of the Healing Cross, COOUTH Amaku, Awka, Mr Nnaemeka Ezeonyi, said that many have continued to draw away from God despite his love for humanity, and made it clear that for one to achieve tomorrow’s glory, he must endure today’s pain and those who seek to reign with Christ in glory must encounter suffering and pain.

He called on Christians to remain steadfast in Christ who is the only hope for salvation

Correspondent Emmanuel Chigbata reports that the various church services climaxed with prayers, praises and thanksgivings.
