Civil Service Commission Responds To Allegation Of Delay In Career Progression By LASTMA Officer

The Lagos State Civil Service Commission has responded to the allegation contained in an online viral video by Mr. Ayodele Mogaji, a Lagos State Government employee with the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), over a supposed delay in considering his request for career progression through conversion.

A statement issued by the Head of Public Affairs, Lagos State Civil Service Commission, Mrs. Omowunmi Seriki, decried the attempt by Mr. Mogaji to malign the Commission and the State Government with the released video, describing it as unprofessional and unacceptable conduct in the State Public Service.

The statement also pointed out that the officer did not explore all grievance redress mechanisms/avenues as enshrined in the Public Service Rules, under Grievances and Petitions/Appeals, noting, however, that the Commission will thoroughly investigate the claims and issues raised in the video.

The release reiterated that the Commission remains resolute in ensuring that the terms and conditions for career progression and advancement in the State Civil Service are fulfilled on the basis of equity, fairness and justice, asserting that valid application from officers would continue to be processed efficiently in accordance with regulations and extant circulars.
