Chris Noth, best known as the charming Mr. Big on HBO’s Sex and the City, has opened up about the strained relationship with his former co-star Sarah Jessica Parker.
The actor, who first appeared on the iconic series from 1998 to 2004 and later reprised his role in the 2008 and 2010 films, revealed that he and Parker no longer speak.
In a preview of his upcoming appearance on the Really Famous with Kara Mayer Robinson podcast, the 71-year-old actor stated plainly, “We’re not friends – I think that’s pretty obvious.”
Falling Out Stems From Allegations
The rift, Noth explained, began after he faced multiple sexual assault allegations in late 2021.
In the wake of these claims, he said he felt abandoned by Parker, who was not only the show’s lead but also an executive producer.
Parker, along with co-stars Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon, publicly condemned Noth’s actions at the time, issuing a statement in December 2021 expressing support for the women who had come forward and saying they were “deeply saddened” by the allegations.
Noth expressed disappointment at their response.
“The statement they put out, which was nothing more than brand management, really… it was sad, it was disappointing, it was surprising,” he said.
He added that after working closely with them for years, he had expected more.
“Before you make that statement, you know me, you’ve known me all these years, give me a call so I can give you the real scoop about this,” Noth explained.
“And that didn’t happen, and that was too bad.”

The fallout from the allegations was swift.
Noth’s character, Mr. Big, was written out of the Sex and the City reboot, And Just Like That…, and he was also removed from his upcoming lead role in the CBS procedural The Equalizer.
Reflecting on the situation, Noth said it gave him clarity about his friendships.
“What’s gained is good. You know where people stand and you know who your real friends are and who they’re not,” he shared.
“That’s important to know.”
He admitted that the treatment from his former co-stars was “hurtful and it really affected everything,” underscoring how the scandal impacted both his personal and professional life.

The allegations, which involved claims from two unnamed women about incidents in 2004 and 2015, were denied by Noth.
He stated, “The accusations against me made by individuals I met years, even decades, ago are categorically false.”
He emphasized that “no always means no” and insisted that all encounters were consensual.
While no criminal charges were ever filed, the accusations had far-reaching consequences, affecting Noth’s career and public image.
In addition to addressing the allegations, Noth has also admitted to infidelity in his marriage to wife Tara Wilson, 43.
The couple, parents to two sons, Orion, 18, and Keats, 5, remain married despite the challenges.
Noth told USA Today in 2023, “I strayed on my wife, and it’s devastating to her and not a very pretty picture. What it isn’t is a crime.”

Noth has continued to make headlines over his relationship with Parker, most recently in January when a gym selfie prompted a follower to reference her award.
Noth’s brief, one-word response drew attention, but he later clarified his intentions on Instagram.
“My off-the-cuff slightly sarcastic response to a comment on the internet seems to have caused a tempest in a teapot,” he wrote.
“It is not news. It is not worth all this discussion. It is a waste of time in a world where there are more important things to worry about.”
