It’s not every day that a club deletes some of its biggest names from its website—but that’s exactly what’s happened at Chelsea.
As new manager Enzo Maresca takes control, he’s made it crystal clear who’s in his plans for next season—and who’s not.
And for Raheem Sterling, it’s looking like the end of the road at Stamford Bridge.
Sterling Left in the Cold—And Off the Website
Raheem Sterling headlines a group of nine players who’ve been completely frozen out by Maresca.
The 30-year-old forward, once a marquee signing from Manchester City, no longer features on the club’s first-team section of the website—no photo, no profile, no mention.
After an underwhelming loan spell at Arsenal last season where he managed just one goal in 27 appearances, Chelsea are now pushing to offload him permanently before the summer window shuts.
From Title Winner to Transfer List
Sterling arrived at Chelsea three years ago with four Premier League titles under his belt and nearly £50 million spent to secure his services.
But that promise quickly faded.
Things didn’t click, and before long, he found himself surplus to requirements.
Now, he’s training separately from the main squad and waiting for his next move.
Who Else Is On the Out List?
Sterling isn’t alone. Ben Chilwell, another high-profile name, is also expected to continue training away from Maresca’s core group.
Others facing the same fate include Armando Broja and Lesley Ugochukwu, who are both reportedly heading to Burnley after some major breakthroughs in negotiations.
Each deal is expected to be around the £20 million mark.
Big Spending Leaves No Room for Sentiment
Chelsea haven’t been shy in the transfer market this summer.
They’ve brought in Joao Pedro from Brighton and Jamie Gittens from Borussia Dortmund—moves that pushed fringe players even further out of the picture.
Midfielder Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall is another set to move on.
He joined Chelsea from Leicester City for £30 million last summer but only made two Premier League starts.
Now, Everton are in talks to sign him for an initial £25 million, plus potential add-ons.
Young Talents and Familiar Faces Also in Limbo
Even academy graduate Alfie Gilchrist isn’t safe—he, too, is without a profile on the website.
Joining him in the shadows are Axel Disasi, Carney Chukwuemeka, Renato Veiga, and David Datro Fofana.
All are part of what’s being described as a bloated senior squad, with Maresca working hard to streamline before the season kicks off.
At the moment, Chelsea’s official site lists 31 players as part of the first-team setup.
But that number could shrink quickly.
More Could Follow Before the Window Shuts
Don’t be surprised if more departures follow. Christopher Nkunku, another big-name signing, is reportedly among those who might still be on the move before the transfer deadline on September 1.
Mudryk’s Complicated Status
And then there’s Mykhailo Mudryk. While he still has a profile photo on the website, he’s currently facing a four-year ban after allegedly violating the FA’s anti-doping rules.
He hasn’t played since November 28 and is barred from training with the team for now.
What’s Next for Chelsea?
With Maresca making swift and decisive moves, the club is clearly in transition.
Some fans will welcome the changes as part of a much-needed rebuild, while others may be surprised by how some of the bigger names have been discarded without ceremony.
