Armed members of the Ukraine army were captured on camera firing a 1908-era Maxim machine gun that had been updated.
The footage was posted on the Telegram account for Military Correspondents of the Russian Spring.
The Maxim machine gun, manufactured in Germany since 1908 and used during World War I, is known as the MG 08 (German: Maschinengewehr 08). It has a 7.9-mm caliber.
The MG 08 was already a dated firearm at the start of World War Two.
More than 30,000 century-old Maxim machine guns were removed from protection in Ukraine, according to a previous UNIAN Ukrainian news story.
Since the 1940s, the weapons had been stored in storage. Such firearms were reportedly used by the Ukrainian Military Forces in Kyiv and Chernihiv.
