As the club currently doesn’t have a manager, all potential targets and players on shortlists are subject to the new manager’s opinion once appointed.

During the January transfer window, Cardiff’s loan bid for Tayo Edun was rejected by Blackburn Rovers.

However, the club continues to keep an eye on the 25-year-old defender, who made only eight Championship appearances for Blackburn last season.

The decision regarding Edun’s potential transfer is uncertain, and it will likely be left to the new manager.

Sabri Lamouchi, the previous manager, expressed his desire to keep Edun and suggested offering him a new contract.

It remains unknown if Edun has been released, but a loan move away from Cardiff would be ideal for him to gain more playing time.

Bluebirds among clubs to have watched Premier League striker

Jesurun Rak-Sakyi, a 20-year-old forward from Crystal Palace, has attracted interest from several Championship clubs, including Cardiff City.

Rak-Sakyi had an impressive loan spell at Charlton Athletic in League One last season, scoring 15 goals and providing eight assists in 43 league appearances.

With Cardiff in need of at least one striker, Rak-Sakyi is expected to be considered by the new manager.

Cardiff City was present at the games where Rak-Sakyi played last season, but they were not the only interested party.

Other clubs from the Championship also attended his matches, indicating the competition for his signature.

The squad announcement will take place on Tuesday, May 30, at the Urdd Eisteddfod in Llandovery.

Additionally, the Wales under-21 team, led by coach Matty Jones, is preparing for the start of the 2025 UEFA U21 Euro qualifiers, with their first match against Denmark on June 20.

Rubin Colwill previously participated in the World Cup with Wales but has faced injury setbacks.

He was selected for the under-21 squad in the last camp, and a good international break and a productive pre-season are hoped for his progress at Cardiff.

Eli King’s situation at Cardiff is still unresolved officially, as the recommendation for him to receive a contract came from former manager Sabri Lamouchi before his departure.

In this week’s episode, which featured AFC Richmond facing Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City, Bothroyd led out the Manchester City players alongside former Wolves defender George Elokobi.
